Location: Fort Walton Beach Florida

Description: White-Wilson Medical Center is currently seeking to employ RN ENT (with Peds exp) right now, this job will be placed in Florida. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Vision, hearing, speaking clearly, stand, sit, stoop, walk, push, pull, lift/move up to 30 pounds, manual dexterity with arms and hands to grasp obj! ects and operate office equipment. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and sometimes working irregular hours. W ork overtime as needed. Regular and reliable attendance is required.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm or other days/hours as directed by supervisor.

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs nursing functions for physician/extender.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office environment with frequent potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids, latex and other conditions common to a medical treatment environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all of the duti! es assigned)
1. Performs selected nursing care and adminis! trative duties.
2. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards.
3. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients including patient screening, histories and vital signs.
4. Observes, records and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
5. Oversees appointment bookings and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Assists in maintaining timely flow of patients.
6. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination.
7. Screens patients for appropriate information.
8. Instructs a patient in collection of samples and tests.
9. Assists in scheduling tests, treatments, surgeries or admissions.
10. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.
11. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
12. Formulates and updates patient facesheet . 13. Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
14. Screens and refers pharmaceutical representatives.
15. Maintains basic knowledge of medical coding and keeps abreast of annual changes and updates.
16. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
17. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
18. Ma intains strict confidentiality.
19. Consistently displays a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
20. Performs other duties as assigned .

KNOWLEDGE: Professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care. Medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

SKILLS: A pplying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of pr! ofessional nursing to provide on-going patient care. Identifying problems and recommending solutions. Preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and resounding to correspondence. Developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • EXPERIENCE: Three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred. Prior pediatric or ENT experience preferred.
  • LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: Possession of a State Registered Nurse license. BLS certification.
