The Director is responsible for the Cardiac Cath Lab! , CVICU and the Electrophysiology Lab and staff. The Director reports to the ACNO.
The hospital has Accredited Chest Pain and Heart Failure Centers as well as a Primary Stroke Center.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the daily operations for the department consisting of 2 Cath Labs, 2 EP Labs, 6 CVICU beds and 6 overflow
- Provide high-quality patient care to and act as a liaison with patients and their representatives
- Create, initiate, and integrate new concepts and practices to improve customer satisfaction and clinical outcomes
- Ensure efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs
- Promote teamwork with physicians and all health care providers
- Promote internal and external customer satisfaction and for appropriate resource management
- Identifies modifications necessary to reflect staffing patterns in relationship to patie! nt acuity, technology, and resource management annually, and a! s needed to meet the changing needs in health care.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership in planning, directing and monitoring activities of assigned areas via performance improvement activities that support Patient Care
- Ensure compliance of federal, state and local laws and regulations; along with standards established by JCAHO
- Current Florida nursing license
- BLS and ACLS certifications required, CCRN preferred
- BSN or equivalent preferred or working towards same, MSN preferred
- 5 + years experience in acute care nursing. 3+ year management experience at the clinical director/manager level
- Successful completion of the arrhythmia examination with a score of 85% or greater
- Completion of a basic arrhythmia course with a minimum of 8 hours of didactic instruction preferred
