DESCRIPTION

This position surveys health care facilities for compliance with State and Federal Regulations, utilizing the ASPEN program to generate forms for health care surveys. You must pass the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within the first 12 months of employment. Trav! el in a seven county area is required; Counties are Pinellas, ! Pasco, Polk, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, and Manatee. Statewide travel may also be included for this position.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques.

Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Ability to prioritize workload.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to develop various reports.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to work under pressure and meet time frames.

Ability to travel providing own transportation.

Ability to ambulate, bend and lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis (Laptop computer, manuals, etc.).

Ability to w! ork beyond normal working hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27 and three years of professional nursing experience, including one year of professional experience in a specialty field as determined by the employing agency. Must be computer literate.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing or a related field can substitute for one year of the required general professional nursing experience.

A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, nursing education, public health, or a related field can substitute for two years of the required general professional nursing experience.

This position will be hired at the rate of $42,000.00 a year.

LICENSURE, CERTIFIC! ATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

This occupation requires li! censure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27 or Certification as a Physician's Assistant in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes.
