Position Overview:
L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Engineering Technician to join our team. This person will contribute to the company’s success by supporting all aspects of the mechanical assembly process, assembly lines and equipment for the Jefferson Road Operations Center. It is essential that this role works effectively in a team environment as well as possess the ability to be self-sufficient when responding to operational support requests or performing proactive duties. This role will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is responsible for successfully maintaining production equipment, tooling and fixturing used throughout the factory.
- Provide support to SMT placement and ancillary equipment to maximize throughput and quality
- Support Preventative Maintenance schedules and machine capability assessments
- Support equipment troubleshooting and repair for all SMT Equipment
- Work closely with other SMT ME Techs to further understanding of SMT & ancillary equipment/processes and resolve issues
- Investigate, initiate, and institute efficiency improvement opportunities
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior relevant experience
- Self-starter and able to work successfully with minimal supervision and manage own workload
- Experience operating and troubleshooting Universal and Fuji SMT placement equipment platforms, with desire to learn and understand more about the equipment
- Familiarity with using statistical analysis to make data driven decisions
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to work and learn in fast paced production environment
- Familiarity with basic computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule on weekend shift in order to accommodate production operations and collaborate with other SMT ME Techs
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
