The STEWARD SUPERVISOR (Full-time) is responsible to support to the Executive Steward to supervise the operations of the Stewarding Department, including overseeing the cleanliness, safety, and the property equipment set-up and food transportation of all Banquet functions.
The expected base wage range for this position is: $17.10 to $27.50 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:
- To assist in the ware washing, stocking and cleaning duties of the Stewarding Department.
- To set-up Splashes with all necessary equipment (china, glassware, silverware, serving utensils) and breakdown station.
- To maintain cleanliness of work area by observing cleaning practices including, but not limited to, mopping, wiping work surfaces, and deep cleaning of kitchen equipment.
- To interact in a courteous and professional manner with guests and hotel staff with whom employee comes into contact.
- To ensure that the garbage and recycle area is clean, organized and all trash bins are properly closed according to the resort standards.
- To immediately inform the Executive Steward when the garbage and recycle area is not in acceptable conditions (i.e., glass not being disposed in the appropriate recycle bins, boxes not properly broken down, kitchen oil spills or disposal/s not being covered and overloaded trash bins, etc.).
- To promptly report deficiencies of garbage, recycle bins and lighting to PBX to insert information in HOT SOS for immediate attention.
- To interact with Splashes leadership to ensure timely expedition of china, glassware and
silverware to meet the needs of the restaurant.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: A minimum of two years experience in backof-house in first class hotel or food service establishment. Able to communicate effectively.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Learns quickly. Safety minded. High quality standards for production and service. Courteous and friendly manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks short distances throughout shift. Constantly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. over moderate distances. Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing 200 lbs. to 400 lbs. over short to long distances, using appropriate hand trucks and carts. Bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, pulls, kneels, and lifts to perform routine job tasks. Flexibility and good reflexes required to operate electric carts. Must be able to work under pressure.
