The Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Florida, College of Medicine â€" Jacksonville seeks a full-time faculty member at the tenure or non-tenure accruing level of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. Major responsibilities include teaching, patient care, and research for our Winter Haven ED (Tampa/Orlando area) core faculty responsibilities.
This position will report to the Medical Director at the assigned site and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine â€" Jacksonville.
Following is a general description of duties and responsibilities:
Provide and maintain a high level of quality in-patient intermediate care services in all aspects of emergency care. Emphasis will be placed upon timeliness of care, cost efficiency and risk management aspects of emergency service.
Provide clinical teaching of trainees in the formal training programs, involvement as needed in ATLS programs both at Winter Haven and at other University of Florida locations, and participate in the educational program.
Responsible for excellent communication with primary care physicians.
Participation in hospital committees and governance, involvement with departmental education sessions for nurses and physicians, and cooperation and participating in the marketing and community outreach programs.
Participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
MD or DO and BC/BE in Emergency Medicine. A post-offer health assessment is required.
