Position Objective:
The purpose of the job is to serve in a management and leadership capacity reporting to th! e appropriate Academic Dean or Administrator for the responsib! ility of overall department operations in accordance with college policies, procedures and contractual agreement, and in support of the overall plan of the college. Employees in this job classification are responsible for the comprehensive coordination and administration of all matters relating to personnel, students, scheduling curriculum implementation, external agencies, instruction, and all financial considerations relating to the department, and accomplishes such in coordination with the colleges' mission and collegewide goals and campus-based initiatives. Associate Deans provide leadership for all instructional programs of arts, associate in science, and associate in applied science as well as vocational and technical certificates. There are three positions available, one on each campus, Central, North and South.

Minimum Education:
Master's degree in Nursing required. Doctorate in Higher Education or Nursing preferred.

Minimum Experienc! e/Training:
Requires three years teaching experience in Nursing at the postsecondary level, with a history of demonstrated leadership roles in educational settings. History of demonstrated leadership roles in educational settings with increasing responsibility in past positions and demonstrate abilities in communication, leadership, management, teamwork, critical thinking, organizational skills, analytical skills, problem solving, conflict resolution and long range or strategic academic planning Some positions require several years of teaching experience at a post secondary or higher education institution. Excellent oral and written communication, financial management and budget design skills. Some positions may require a minimum of 18 additional credit hours in a specified discipline. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly/creative research in higher education. In-depth knowledge of the academic discipline(s).

Minimum Certification/Licenses:
Must have current and active Registered Nurse License from the ! State of Florida with no history of suspension or having any action taken against that license.

Models inclusive excellence through specific actions that support the College's diversity goals in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of talented and diverse faculty and staff. Oversees and coordinates professional development plans, management and evaluation, and submits appropriate recommendations of personnel actions. May manage multiple discipline/departments or multiple units within a division. Works directly with contractual provisions, interpreting contract language and working with faculty to ensure contract provisions are met. Develops and manages the academic, student or business department's budget(s). Has full responsibility for multiple academic disciplines, units or departments. Responsible for the protection and safe-keeping of confidential data aquired during the course o! f work.
