The Travel RN is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating, an! d delegating the delivery of skilled patient care. The RN is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and has the authority to direct care, provide education, seek resources at the unit/department level, and delegate appropriate tasks. The responsibility cannot be avoided by accepting the orders or direction of others. This position requires substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral and sociological sciences, and requires critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, which includes knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Performs focused interview to identify specific patient needs
Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s conditi! on
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information! from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses
Documents the patients plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions
Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements
Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard
Documents patient’s response to nursing and other interventions
Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
