Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work as the Director of the Peds/PICU that is licensed or in the immediate process, and qualifies, of obtaining RN licensure in this respective state to work in the specialty area of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
The Director is! responsible for managing daily operations of the PICU units, with some limited oversight for OB/Post-Partum. The Director ensures best outcomes and high quality compassionate care of patients as they move through the hospital and into the home or other care facilities. She/he works collaboratively with medical staff and other healthcare professionals as well as communicates regularly with CNO to gather data, provide consideration, insure consistency in implementation of policies and procedures. The Director supervises and mentors employees, understands the process of change and takes the initiative in planning and implementing change, monitors annual budgets, and maintains appropriate staffing levels within budgeted hours. The Director also ensures department compliance with the JCAHO and all applicable agencies (local, state and federal).
Requirements include:
Must have graduated from an accredited school. BSN required, MSN preferred.
Current state! license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or willing to obtain licen! sure in another state, assuming that all pre-requisites have been satisfied.
Current CPR certification.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS card.
5+ years of professional Pediatrics or PICU experience.
2+ years management experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops, supervises, and administers adult and geriatric services.
Promotes a multidisciplinary coordination of services, such as, nursing, medical, respiratory care, laboratory, pharmaceutical and public relations.
Developing monitors, appraising and analyzing budgetary goals and outcomes for the unit.
Developing plans in conjunction with Administrative Director, for capital resource required to maintain quality care in the Unit.
Administer and appraises Quality Improvement within the services provided. Controls processes related to HR; inclusive of hiring, evaluating, terminating, counseling, coaching and development of the staff.
Directs, approves, and updates the practice of p! rofessional nursing and support positions within the services provided to maintain quality patient care through implementation and evaluation of clinical practice standards.
Develops, interprets, inspect and review policies and procedures for services provided.
Develops, institutes, reviews and implements disaster preparedness policies and procedures for the organization.
Collaborates, develops and participates in marketing of services, including educational program development, external advertising and working in alliance with local and regional programs
Responsible for 24-hour coverage and problem resolution for Unit/areas of responsibility.
