The Lab Medical Assistant II is responsible for collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing! , communications with nursing regarding patient specimens; referring specimens to outside laboratories; interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests; performance of phlebotomy procedures and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION: Phlebotomy
REQUIRED EDUCATION: HS or GED
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Six Months Phlebotomy or Laboratory or Specimen or Client Services
REQUIRED LICENSURE: FDL â€" Home Draw Only
SPECIFIC SKILLS: Computer skills appropriate to position, interpersonal skills, medical terminology use and understanding, written and verbal communication skills, work independently with minimal supervision, teamwork, organizational skills, time management, customer service skills.
