DEFINITION OF NURSING FROM ANA: Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering throug! h the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. STANDARDS OF NURSING PRACTICE: Describe a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The nursing process includes the components of: Assessment, Diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE: Describe a competent level of behavior in the professional role â€" including activities related to quality of practice, education, professional practice evaluation, collegiality, collaboration, ethics, research, resource utilization, and leadership. QUALIFICATIONS: AA Degree or RN Diploma from an accredited school of nursing. Current Florida Registered Nurse license. Current CPR certification. Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications. Requires lifting a minimum of 50 pounds. Requires standing for long ! periods of time. Requires ability to work in a fast-paced envi! ronment.
