General Statement of Job
This position performs skilled painting, masonry, mechanical, carpentry, and related maintenance and repair work in maintenance and repair of Health Care District property, structures, and equipment. This position works with other facility maintenance personnel in completing projects as needed. Responsible for on-call emergency call backs on a rotating schedule.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Performs skilled construction, maintenance, and repairs on structures, facilities, equipment, and! other District property in the painting, masonry, mechanical,! or carpentry trade.
Performs necessary calculations (e.g., mixing proportions, measuring angles and distances, calculating square footage).
Performs preventive maintenance according to assigned schedules or when directed.
Operates various hand-held manual, electrical, and gas powered tools and equipment (e.g., shovels, mixers, sprayers, drills, hammers).
Assists in minor repairs of plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
Maintains and ensures the safe operating condition of assigned equipment and tools according to established department policy and sound trade practices.
Performs various record maintenance duties where applicable (e.g., work orders, materials and supplies utilized, cost estimates, labor required, maintenance logs).
Recognizes and reports any detected deterioration, repair needs, and maintenance needs to supervisor.
Assists with the planning, estimating, and coordination of more complex tasks.
Assists other facility maintenance wo! rkers in supporting the safety and physical integrity of property, structures, facilities, and equipment of the District.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.

Position Qualifications
Education:
High school dip! loma or GED required.
Experience:
Two (2) to four (! 4) years of experience in Maintenance at a Residential/Institutional setting required.
Licensure:
Valid State Driver’s License required with safe driver designation required.
