Assesses, monitors, and documents patientâs condition; performs routine nursing patient care related procedures such as starting IVs, inserting foleys etc. Administers prescribed! drugs, provides treatment, explains diagnostic exams, and observes patientâs tolerance of diagnostic exams and records pertinent observations. Transports critical care patients to and from the Medical Imaging Department. Conducts and documents pre and post-interventional procedure patient interviews. Assists physicians with examinations required. Education and Experience Required
Completion of an accredited program of professional nursing
Minimum one year experience as a radiology nurse in an Interventional Radiology environment OR previous adult intensive care or post anesthesia/recovery experience as a registered nurse, with emphasis to include conscious sedation and cardiac monitoring
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration Required
Current State license as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider and Advanced Life Support
Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN) preferred
Physical Demands for Essential Functions of the Job
Ability to walk and stand more than ninety percent of work time
Ability to bend and stoop frequently during each workday
Ability to assist with lifting, positioning and transporting patients of varying weights up to 350 lbs
Ability to wear respirator and other protective clothing/equipment in exposure situations and a! ccording to unit specific protocols
