Mt. Bachelor is hiring Reservations Agents to work out of our Bend office. Reservations staff are the first line of contact for guests and provide assistance with activity reservations, mountain information, and are available to troubleshoot and solve problems for all guests. All incoming phone calls, emails, and texts are answered by the Reservations staff. Familiarity with Mt. Bachelor is strongly preferred as this department must be experts in all products and services provided by Mt. Bachelor. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

Answer Inquiries:

  • Answer incoming calls, emails, and texts warmly and communicate in a courteous, helpful, articulate manner.
  • Respond professionally and accurately to guest inquiries regarding Mt. Bachelor and Sun Country Tours information, products, events, and activities.
  • Schedule reservations for all Mt Bachelor products including Tickets, Season Passes, Ski School, Summer Mountain Biking, ZipTour, Whitewater Rafting activities, Sunset Dinners and more.
  • Keep abreast of information that is pertinent to the job - through staff meetings, website and newsletters.
  • Know and apply Mt. Bachelor and Sun Country Tours policies and act as a switchboard for all incoming guest communication.

Process Orders & Reservations:

  • Provide outstanding customer service to phone, online, and walk-in guests.
  • Promote mountain activities and services through direct sales and online-troubleshooting.
  • Operate point of sales software to enter, modify and cancel guest reservations for all activities and events.
  • Input accurate and complete entries in the point of sales system.
  • Produce reports and confirmations as needed, from point of sales systems.

Serve as liaison with Mt. Bachelor and Sun Country Staff:

  • Communicate with all Mt.Bachelorand Sun Country Tours departments to facilitate daily operations and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Work well as part of a team. Bring a positive attitude every day.

Specific Job Skills:

Technical:

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience selling products and activities through POS system is highly desirable.
  • Familiar with multi-lined phones systems specifically ShoreTel.
  • Knowledge in general office machines (point of sale computers with receipt and ticket printers, copier, printer, scanner, fax machine, postage machine)

Physical Capabilities:

  • Prolonged sitting, computer, and phone use.
  • Ability to communicate via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Additional

  • Outgoing, cheerful personality with pleasant phone voice.
  • Knowledge of Mt. Bachelor and Sun Country Tours products and activities
  • Ability to be productive and organized in demanding work environment.
  • Willingness to train and adapt to a high-volume customer service environment.

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required:bachelor's degree, or relevant college coursework preferred. High School or Equivalent accepted.

Minimum time in related position:1 year in customer service, retail, hospitality or related customer service experience.

    • In addition to the specific conditions below, every position at Mt. Bachelor requires the ability to shovel snow, lift up to 25 pounds, and walk on steep and uneven surfaces.
  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee will be required to frequently bend, reach, climb, lift up to 25 pounds, push, pull, and sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. This individual may occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat, sun, and cold. Additionally, the position will require frequent visual concentration on equipment, hand/eye coordination, and rapid reactions to changes. The individual must be able to navigate all locations of the company operations, both on and off the mountain, and potentially in extreme weather conditions.
