Pay rate: $22 per hour


Job Summary:

Ensure autos are depolluted prior to processing. This includes draining of all fluids and removal of batteries to ensure safety during material handling and processing.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspection of entire work area and specifically SEDA rack to check for any damage that may compromise structural integrity of rack.
  • Observe loader operator to ensure vehicle is placed properly on the track to avoid the car falling off. Watch and make sure vehicle is on rack and properly balanced. Communicate any issues immediately to avoid property damage and/or injury
  • Drill into oil pans on motor block and transmission to drain oil. Plug hole made by drill when oil is done draining into hose
  • Insert coolant draining needle into coolant hose and leave there until all coolant fluid is drained
  • Drill into Gasoline tank and keep drill placed there (same as with oil drill) until no more gasoline is visibly draining form tank
  • Remove catalytic converter(s) using Cat Cutter and place into storage bin
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Crane Operator certification preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work outside under extreme temperature conditions (heat, cold, snow etc.)
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and risk of radiation.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
