Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant and/or Speech Pathologist assists with approved patient care within capabilities and skills. Job tasks and responsibilities include:
Assists during patient testing, evaluations, and complex procedures.
Assists with holding, lifting and positioning patients and equipment.
Cleans and sets up treatment areas and equipment..
Prepares patients for treatments.
Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure appropriate interaction with all internal and external customers.
Transports patients to and from department,
Maintains supplies
Provides age and culturally appropriate care
Orients and mentors new staff members
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Q! ualifications
Job qualifications include:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred.
Previous experience as a rehabilitation tech preferred.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
